Bridesmaids (2011) : Review

Don't get deceived by the name this is an R rated production by Jude Aptow(knocked up).So  expect  a mixed bag of heartwarming story interspersed with few gross scenes.

Annie's life is in ruins. But when her best friend Lilian is getting married, Annie agrees to be her bridesmaid. The conflict arises when another maiden challenges her for best-friend status and maid of honor honors.
Kristen wig (SN L) act as Annie and co wrote the film and it is a lot better than her Saturday night performances.Maya Rudolph, another SN L girl act as Lilian.Bridesmaids has its share of stereo types lovelorn Annie, fat and randy Megan , perfectly pretty, wealthy snob Helen, and everyone plays their part perfectly.
Paul Feig directed bridesmaids. This is his saving grace after Unaccompanied Minors .Comedian  Annie Mumolo and Kristen wig co wrote this movie, they almost succeeded in not making another sex and city stereotype. Bridesmaids is much more like hangover with  the wedding, bachelorette party and a going to Vegas sequence, which ends soon.
If you could sit through some pretty nasty potty jokes , it is highly enjoyable. Listen  to Wilson Phillips song "Hold On" at the end, a great theme for the movie.

  1. I miss Kristen Wiig’s skits on SNL. They always make me laugh until my sides hurt. I loved Bridesmaids though, and I definitely plan on renting it again very soon. I am a customer and employee of DISH Network, and I know that on October 1, Blockbuster is releasing a Movie Pass that will open thousands of on-demand movies and TV shows on your TV or computer! Plus, since its Blockbuster, you can always rent Blu-rays at no additional cost! Of course, since it is available on October 1, here is where you can get notified! That way, you can see Bridesmaids for yourself!
